For 2018 the location is Fuerteventura, we have two date ranges, March the 8th through to the 15th and the 15th through to the 22nd, staying at the Playitas Sports Resort, which boasts an temperature of 22°C with a low of 16°C , which is part of the reason that almost every Pro cycle team trains there as part of their season prep and every major European Pro Triathlete in preparation for their season. They have majestic climbs, fast rolling flats, great sea swim conditions, amazing trails for running and ball bearing smooth tarmac.

Price guide is £ 655 - £ 715 dependent upon week chosen and finalisation of accommodation, 2017 cost was finalised at £635.00

The Playitas Resort has been voted one of Europe’s top triathlon training centres by professional triathletes, coaches and specialised publications, and it’s where the triathlon elite prepare for the season.

The weather conditions allow year-round training in the outdoor 8 Lane 50M Olympic pool (wetsuits are allowed as well) and open water swimming from the beach right next to the resort which is only a few meters away. The pool also has a submerged viewing area so that stroke technique can be videoed and analysed for one to one feedback. Running routes ranging from 1.4 to 23 km start right at the resort as well and there are ideal cycling conditions due to the minimal traffic and very well-kept roads. There is a 4k dedicated cycle lane at the resort which can also be used for running, think 4k intervals and you’ll get the idea.. We will also have access to the full size running stadium during the week and this will all be scheduled for you.

The camp week will include 18-27 hours of training across all three disciplines. Under the guidance of a world class coach you will cover everything from open water swimming, videoed pool swim analysis concentrating on technique, beautiful rides with majestic climbs and rolling roads, to running effectively off the bike and seminars on fuelling and recovery, with a focus on building your base with the correct balance of speed work, everything you need to excel in your season ahead.

Remember most importantly that it is your week to enjoy so you can do as much or little of the training as you wish, you will each have different aims/goals for this week so it is important you keep these in mind during the week and communicate these to the coach to ensure you’re working towards them.

We want this to be an enjoyable, rewarding and fun experience.

When, where and what

What will the week include?

  • A focus on a tough (but manageable) training load so that you go home with a significant training effect.

  • There will still be a chance for anyone to focus on technique in your swim and run. Video analysis will be taken and discussed individually or a group, so that you leave the holiday with a clear idea of where and how you can improve technically over the next few weeks in the lead up to your race.

  • Half board for your nutritional needs

  • Shared accommodation, if you want to bring your family and combine the trip then please do let us know

  • Open water swimming is included in the schedule, a great chance for you to practice your deep water starts, swimming through varying water conditions and honing those race tactics- sighting, drafting and turning around buoys.

  • There is no ability level that cannot be catered for! We will  have a range of rides, runs and swims out at any one time so even if you are new to the sport, or your training for your first IRONMAN® or IRONMAN® 70.3® event- don't be put off.

  • Fully supported rides, with a support car and mechanic for longer excursions

  • Optional individual functional movement screening (FMS)

  • Athlete report card detailing all areas worked on and advice given during the duration of the stay with SISU Racing (by email)
